About the Role

As an Assistant, Valuation and Analytics Advisory (AI Specialist), you will support Deloitte’s Valuation and Analytics team in assessing AI-related risks, controls, models, data, and processes.

The role involves working with AI/ML technologies and supporting audit engagements through activities such as AI governance assessments, model evaluation, controls testing, substantive procedures, and preparation of client deliverables.

You will also collaborate with engagement teams and client working teams across areas such as IT, risk, and business processes.

Key Responsibilities

AI Risk, Governance & Controls Assessment

• Support engagement teams in identifying and documenting how clients use AI across financial reporting and broader enterprise functions.
• Assist in evaluating AI model complexity, reliability, and performance.
• Apply statistical and quantitative methods to assess model inputs, outputs, and assumptions.
• Support assessment of model drift and year-over-year changes under the direction of senior team members.
• Help assess AI governance structures and risk management practices.
• Reference frameworks such as NIST AI RMF and ISO/IEC 42001 as part of team assessments.
• Support preparation of assessment reports, maturity scorecards, and client deliverables.
• Document governance gaps and recommended remediation.

Audit Response & Controls Testing

• Support evaluation of process versus control determinations.
• Assist in assessing human oversight and monitoring controls over AI systems.
• Support the design of audit responses to AI-related risks.
• Assist with controls testing covering AI governance, data inputs, and model outputs.
• Support substantive procedures involving account balances and transactions impacted by AI.
• Work with areas such as accounting estimates derived from ML models, automated journal entries, and AI-driven reconciliations.

Communication & Team Collaboration

• Support communication with client working teams, including IT, risk, and business process owners.
• Assist in preparing materials and analysis for status updates and workshops.
• Communicate technical AI/ML concepts clearly in team settings and client working sessions.
• Stay current with developments across the AI landscape.
• Contribute to internal training materials and team knowledge-sharing.
